Volumio's Integro is the latest just-add-speakers system to hit the market and sports Italian style alongside a host of connectivity options.
Pitched as a plug-and-play hi-fi system, this sleek, compact streaming integrated amplifier offers dual mono Class-D tech and enough ports to accommodate multiple sources, including audio from your Turntable, TV or phone. Naturally, it being Volumio's forte, you can access your digital music library and streaming services, such as TIDAL, Qobuz or Roon in up to 192kHz/ 24bit via Gigabit LAN or dual-band Wi-Fi, all from a single unit. Literally, just add speakers.
Volumio specs the pair of MA12070P amplifiers from Infineon in dual-mono configuration as dishing out 2x50W RMS into an 8 Ohm load, 2x70W RMS into 4 Ohms.
Alternatively, you might want to take advantage of what Volumio boasts as being “one of the world's best-sounding headphone amplifiers” via the fascia-mounted 3.5mm output jack. Here, a PCM5122 DAC is partnered with with a TPA6120A2 headphone amplifier, both from Texas Instruments. The result is 192kHz with 24bit resolution and 2x300mW RMS @ 64 Ohm, 2x480mW @ 32 Ohm.
On the subject of inputs and outputs, around the rear, as well as the speaker output posts, you get USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, an ethernet port, HDMI video input, COAX input and stereo analogue RCA inputs. There are also Subwoofer and HDMI outputs and a Micro-SD card slot for enhanced storage. Finally, Bluetooth connectivity is offered in 5.0 flavour.
The Integro is a smart-looking component and will no doubt slip in nicely to any living room, bedroom or office thanks to its stylish antimagnetic aluminium chassis topped off by two orange knobs to control volume and input options, accompanied by a sharp OLED display.
You can control everything via the Volumio Universal platform featuring a multi-room version of the Manifest user interface for “simple and intuitive management of your musical content”. Additionally, you get access to the recently announced AI music discovery service powered by ChatGPT via Supersearch, which will offer better recommendations and more accurate results so that you get more music and less track skipping.
The Volumio Integro is available now, priced at US$1,294.
